As the Leader of Asset Management, you will report to the Manager of Construction & Materials within the Mobility Business unit. You will manage and develop the short- and long-term asset management plans for roadways, concrete sidewalks, the asphalt plant and crusher. You will oversee a technical team responsible for routine asset condition assessments, establish target levels of service and develop asset management plans. Additionally, you will oversee a project to modernize condition assessment by leveraging emerging technologies. You will provide oversight as a responsible member to engineering and technical staff to meet The City's permit obligations with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Primary duties include:
- Provide inclusive leadership to a team of engineers and technologist through respectful coaching and mentoring.
- Provide responsible member oversight and direction on target levels of service, condition assessments and asset prioritization ensuring public safety and repair interventions are timely and provide best value.
- Oversee the planning of the annual pavement, concrete, asphalt plant and crusher plant repair and maintenance programs. Develop asset management plans based on available budgets and delivery capacity of internal City forces and external vendors.
- Liase and coordinate with other delivering Business Units when establishing annual programs and look for opportunities to integrate projects to increase efficiency.
- Lead the asset hand-off process from internal and external delivery teams and ensure assets management systems are accurate and current.
- Establish and report on target levels of service for pavement and concrete assets within the road right of way.
- Oversee a project to modernize condition assessment by leveraging emerging technologies.
- Provide input into the budget planning process for infrastructure investment and assist in the development of short- and long-term capital and operating plans.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field.
- You must have at least 8 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work Click here for more details.
- At least 2 years of leading and supervising a team is required with demonstrated success in building, developing and leading high performing teams.
- Experience managing infrastructure asset, is a preferred asset.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong and positive working relationships.
- Success in this role requires ability to work within tight timeframes, effective communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
$106,174 - $162,616 per annum
