The Election Administrator will provide administrative support for the 2025 municipal election in Strathcona County. The position provides customer service as the first point of contact in the Election Office, assisting with election worker recruitment and supporting voter registration. Additionally, it includes overseeing supply management for the office and voting stations and maintaining both public and internal webpages.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first point of contact in the Election Office for candidates, election workers and the public
- Provide excellent customer service in person, on the phone and over email
- Manage the voting station supply needs
- Maintain the public election website and the internal election webpage
- Assist with election worker recruitment and correspondence
- Perform administrative functions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Schedule, organize and assist with internal and external meetings, prepare and distribute agendas, maintain minutes and related meeting materials
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma with three years of related experience in the public sector or in election administration
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (O365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain professional while working with internal and external clients (coworkers, the public, senior administration)
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and at times, with a high volume of various tasks
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to recognize and deal with matters of a confidential nature in a discrete and professional manner
Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
Pay Range: $26.04 - $32.54
