This Business Analyst, ERP (Finance) is responsible to help coordinate financial business transformation, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) sustainment and continuous improvement for the corporate-wide finance function. This key position focuses on long-term operational business innovation, reporting, continuous improvement, and ongoing financial process sustainment. As such, this position is instrumental in corporate finance process management and will support the corporate financial function related ERP business solutions.
The position will work with all Corporate Finance parties across the organization to determine business requirements, translate them into technical requirements, analyze and re-engineer business processes, and, where appropriate, recommend manual and automated solutions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial processes, management information systems, interfaces, data, and reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing, sustaining, and continuously improving the corporate financial process repository and Business Process Management (BPM) life cycle by providing process and technical expertise, this includes review and optimization activities to support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and associated cross-departmental business processes
- Lead corporate financial groups to identify opportunities for streamlining, enhancing and re-engineering business processes to achieve efficiencies, increase functionality and information quality, and improve organizational effectiveness; assessing opportunities in relation to business impacts and risks
- Organize testing, quality management and coordination of resolutions as required for financial ERP applications and reporting
- Responsible to develop and maintain detailed ERP and related business application documents, including customizations, reports, data, analytics, etc.
- Liaise with departments, vendors and consultants during design, testing, and implementation of financial systems, enhancement initiatives and resolution of cross-functional issues
- Participate in initiatives relating to financial reporting tools and processes, including collaborating with corporate working groups
- Provide expert financial report writing and consultation services by leading the review, analysis and interpretation of information to develop reports that support financial reporting, business planning and decision-making
Qualifications and Skills:
- A post-secondary degree in Business/Accounting or a related Information Technology discipline
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible related experience (Senior Business Analyst, ERP Analyst, ERP sustainment analyst, or a similar role) in a complex business environment and/or municipal government setting
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis and elicitation, business process modelling/mapping, and software testing
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), Project Management Professional (PMP), and other relevant certifications and/or training are highly desirable
- Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), Swimlane process flow, Visio, Jira, and other relevant tools used in business analysis are highly desirable
- Previous Tier 1 or 2 ERP experience focused on implementing finance related modules (General Ledger, payroll/AP/AR, etc.) is considered an asset
- Experience as the point of contact for ERP system or financial systems for vendor and internal business users is considered an asset
- Team-oriented and has the ability to build effective relationships with strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are required
- Attention to detail, accuracy, with strong analytical skills and eagerness to learn new technologies and understanding of an integrated business model
Salary Range: $86,577.40 - $108,180.80
