Position Overview:
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) supports the Manager of Human Resources in implementing workplace strategies that drive long-term organizational success and prepare the organization for the future. This role focuses on fostering an engaged, skilled, connected, inclusive, and collaborative workforce. Key responsibilities include; collaborating with the HR manager and team to develop and execute initiatives aligned with the Town of Canmore’s purpose, mission, culture, and values, as well as leading efforts in employee and labour relations, including issue resolution and investigations. This individual will identify and deploy leadership development programs through external providers, oversee employee surveys and talent data collection to inform HR strategies, coach leaders to embody and promote the organization’s culture and values, and implement programs to create a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace, with a commitment to Truth & Reconciliation.

Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent - in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, and/or Public Administration - Required
- Education in Industrial and Labour Relations, Conflict Resolution, workplace Investigations, UNDRIP, and Workplace Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging – Required
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) – Preferred
- Alberta Class 5 driver’s license – Preferred
- Project Management Certificate – preferred
Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in all facets of HR, including compensation and benefits, provincial employment legislation, performance management, employee development, job design, performance evaluation, time and attendance, employee and labour relations, hiring and onboarding, and health & safety.
• Proven experience coaching organizational leaders and managing team dynamics
• Experience in organization development and change management
• Experience in a municipal setting, and/or working with a board of directors
• Experience in labour relations activities including collective bargaining and grievances
• Experience developing adaptable HR policies and procedures
• Demonstrated success in conflict management
• Demonstrated commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and equitable workplaces
• Working knowledge of the 94 Call to Action
• Working knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIP)
• Experience presenting to boards, committees, or councils
• Experience working in municipal government, or not-for-profit sector

Salary & Benefits:
- Pay Range- $110,164.60 to $116,298.00 annual salary, commensurate with relevant education, experience, and demonstrated competencies.
