Summary:
The challenge of this position is to contribute your experience, skill, and training to the maintenance and operation of Aquatera’s Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities. Aquatera has embraced a culture of continuous improvement; in addition to demonstrating a commitment to our core values.
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will be required to:
• Learn and maintain equipment related to the water, wastewater treatment and cogeneration facilities including fleet and generators
• Initiate and/or perform facility preventive and corrective maintenance
• Initiate and/or perform assessments and repairs; including after-hours emergencies when necessary
• Participate in on-call schedule
• Assist in the further development of the preventive maintenance program
• Assist in the further development of the spare parts inventory and control
• Assist in the further development of hand tool inventory and control
• Assist in developing and implementing safe work procedures related to proper equipment operations and scheduled maintenance
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining current operations manuals for plant equipment, generators, and fleet.
• Perform all duties safely, demonstrating excellent housekeeping practices
• Demonstrate commitment to Aquatera Principles and Values
• Work with field and plant operators to perform equipment repair and maintenance using safe work procedures and best practices
• May be required to review preventative maintenance schedules in support of the maintenance strategy
• Perform general repairs of fleet as necessary
• Repair and maintain cooling and lubrication systems
• Repair working attachments, winches, compressors, pumps, etc.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must:
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Possess a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright certificate (apprentice may be considered)
• Class 3 Drivers license with Q (air brake) endorsement is an asset
• Education and/or certification related to mechanical maintenance is an asset
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Must have knowledge of best practices related to preventive maintenance systems
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be proficient at reading P&IDs and single line drawings
• Must be self-motivated, organized and safety conscious
• Travel to remote locations, including overnight travel, may be required
The successful candidate will be required to provide a 5-year driver’s abstract satisfactory to the employer and pass a pre-employment 50 lb. fitness test as well as a comprehensive drug and alcohol test. The driver’s abstract and current, valid driver’s license will be required at the time of the first interview.
Compensation and benefits are in accordance with the CUPE Local 787 Collective Agreement.
