Description
This challenging position involves:

  • Shift work, working alone and participation in the stand-by schedule.
  • Travelling and overnight stays at remote worksites will be required.
  • Treatment plant shift operator of Level III WTP and Level IV BNR.
  • Performing facility operation and maintenance tasks related to process monitoring and optimization, chlorine tonner change, chemical mixing and off-loading.
  • Laboratory sampling and field analysis.
  • Reporting and detailed record keeping.
  • Observation, preventative maintenance and station checks of GCC building, all water distribution pump houses and lagoons.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and, will:

  • Be self-motivated, organized and safety conscious.
  • Be able to work as part of a team or independently without direct supervision.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude, good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a basic knowledge of mathematics, chemistry, biology and computers.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively.
  • Consistently model Aquatera’s Values and Principles; as well as incorporating continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Have prior education/experience in the Water/Wastewater Treatment field.
  • Level 1 Water and Wastewater is an asset with progression of certification levels of both Water and Wastewater at the earliest opportunity.
  • Have a valid Class five Drivers’ license.
  • Have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide a copy of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Provide a driver’s abstract satisfactory to the employer.
  • Pass a 50 lb. fitness test.
  • Pass a comprehensive drug and alcohol test.
