The HR Systems Analyst position is a key role within the HR Systems team that will be responsible for supporting Oracle HCM Cloud. This position is responsible for the effective design, business configuration, implementation, communication, maintenance and reporting of employee data within Strathcona County’s Human Capital Management system. 

This position will partner with the HR team to continue to develop and support Cloud based solutions in the areas of core HR, recruitment/applicant tracking, employee onboarding, time/labour, payroll, benefits, talent and dashboards/analytics. 

This role may be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program.  The successful candidate will be required to reside within 2 hours of Sherwood Park, Alberta.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide day-to day Oracle module support, including working closely with users to support, train and improve system functionality and assist with future enhancements and upgrades 
  • Update and maintain Oracle HCM, including testing, validation of business processes, notifications, module configuration, workflows and reports 
  • Support the HCM release assessment, planning, and implementation including developing test plans, verification, recommendations, ensuring sign-offs and post-release support 
  • Maintain system documentation including processes and procedures, user guides, training/operating manuals and standard operating procedures and test plans in alignment with Oracle standards set by the Business Excellence Team  
  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve technical production issues including coordinating with stakeholders when required
  • Collect, define and translate business requirements into functional technical specifications and configure required business updates in Oracle 
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Oracle HCM reporting/analytics and HR transactions/processes, including providing guidance to the HR team, managers, and employees on proper use of the system and best practices 
  • Design, build and maintain custom reports and dashboards in Oracle to support the HR team and business with their reporting and analytics needs 
  • Provide ongoing feedback, training and change management support to the HR team and other business users regarding system functionality, data integrity and business process changes  
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • A related post-secondary diploma with a minimum of 5-7 years related experience in HRIS analysis (troubleshooting, system setup, test cases etc.) business system analysis or support experience 
  • Experience with cloud-based Human Resources technology such as Oracle HCM Cloud, Success Factors, IBM, Workday (Recruiting, Core HR, Benefits, Time/Absence, Payroll, Talent or Reporting) 
  • Advanced Excel skills are required   
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and business software` 
  • Knowledge of SQL is an asset 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR concepts, practices, processes and procedures 
  • Strategic, critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze a variety of information and recommend a course of action 
  • Ability to drive results, collaborating across teams to provide technical and process solutions to solve critical business needs 
  • Experience with structured project management, implementation and testing methodologies 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including development and delivery of presentations 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a solution-oriented focus and the ability to foster productive relationships with all levels in the organization 
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage a diverse and demanding workload with multiple deadlines
