Description
The City of Pitt Meadows is recruiting auxiliary Child and Youth Workers to support a variety of recreation programs for children and youth. Reporting to the Arts & Recreation Program Coordinator, this position participates in planning, implementing, and leading a variety of special events, camps, and outdoor activities. They will also assist in leading volunteers, provide instructions for various activities, and encourage program participation.

Applicants must be willing to work weekends, with open flexibility to work a variety of shifts Monday through Sunday, 5:45am – 10:15pm.

Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by courses related to the work, plus related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience providing instruction, leadership and support for social and recreational child and youth programs will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR – Level C.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
Salary & Benefits
  • CUPE Wage Rate - $22.78 per hour (+12% in lieu of benefits)

*The City of Pitt Meadows is a Living Wage Employer, therefore the Metro Vancouver Living Wage Amount ($25.68/hr) will be applied to this position.
