Description
Saanich Recreation is seeking experienced instructors to plan and lead multi-sport programs for preschool age children starting in mid September and continuing throughout the school year.  The successful candidates will work with a partner to deliver these programs at multiple sites throughout Saanich.

The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and supervising multi-sport programs including both parent and tot and preschool age lessons. This also involves ensuring the safety and well-being of participants and communicating and working cooperatively with their participants, parents, co-worker, coordinators and supervisors. The successful candidates will need to be available to attend training in early September.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience teaching  camps, classes or programs in a recreational or instructional setting; satisfactory police information check, Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C. The ideal candidates will have the ability to be inclusive and flexible to ensure a positive environment is created for all participants; demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm and personal motivation.  Experience working with people with behavioral or cognitive difficulties is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and expertise may be considered.  The successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts starting mid-September, including Wednesdays from 10am-12pm at Saanich Commonwealth Place; Thursdays from 10:45am-12:15pm at the Gordon Head Rec Centre; Saturdays from 9:15-11:15am at the Gordon Head Middle School; and Sundays from 3-5pm Braefoot Park Centre.  Successful candidates do not need to work all of these shifts; however, they should be available for at least 1-2 of the specified shifts listed in this posting.
