Description
The District of Saanich seeks an individual who will provide direction to the development, planning, coordination, scheduling and evaluation of recreation program areas at the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. This position oversees the operation of the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill, including art and ceramics studios and visual and performing arts programs, as well as coordinates wellness programs. The Programmer II will also be responsible for the supervision of staff, marketing of programs and community and partnership development. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in planning, promoting and evaluating recreation programs; proven ability to train and supervise a diverse team; and excellent people management skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with all clientele.

Requirements

Requirements include: a University Degree in Recreation, leisure studies or related field with minimum three years’ experience in recreation programming; satisfactory police information check and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to work varying hours including evenings and weekends.

Salary & Benefits
