Description
Strathcona County is looking for a highly organized and proactive individual to join our Information and Technology Services (ITS) team! As an Administrative Assistant I, you will leverage your exceptional coordination and collaboration skills to effectively support and streamline operations across the ITS department. 

The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating outstanding multi-tasking abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to foster interdepartmental teamwork. This position provides proficient administrative support to the ITS management and leadership groups, including routine administrative duties, administrative tasks for project support and specialized assignments as required.

This role may be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program.  The successful candidate will be required to reside within 2 hours of Sherwood Park, Alberta. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate team and project schedules, ensuring seamless meetings by preparing and distributing necessary documentation, taking detailed minutes, and tracking action items
  • Lead the ITS Culture Committee initiative, including promotion of culture, diversity and inclusion as well as planning, coordinating and administrating social events
  • Gather, research and coordinate information for preparation of reports, presentations, and correspondence
  • Create and update content for the ITS SharePoint and Teams sites; post announcements, articles, and other essential information for the ITS team
  • Coordinate and monitor routine team administrative tasks, i.e., providing guidance in relation to expense claims, time entry, and County forms, documents and processes 
  • Manage County Connect communications and other inquiries ensuring timely responses and accurate updating of service requests
  • Records representative for the ITS department; management of physical and electronic records; determining security, filing, deleting, archiving, etc.
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years administrative experience, preferably in municipal government
  • A business administration certificate or diploma is an asset
  • Familiarity with Information Technology Services and IT terminology is considered an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft O365 environment including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, OneNote and SharePoint; experience with County Connect, eScribe and Visio is an asset
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to work under pressure and within strict timelines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, negotiate priorities on short notice and promptly adapt to an everchanging work environment schedule, for a department that operates 24/7
  • Develop and maintain cooperative inter-branch working relationships
  • Ability to recognize and discreetly handle confidential matters
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to work with both external and internal customers in a professional manner 
Salary & Benefits

Salary Range:  $52,889.20 - $66,120.60
