Description
The Supervisor, HR Systems is responsible for providing leadership to support Strathcona County’s Human Resources Human Capital Management system (Oracle HCM) and collaborating with the Business Excellence Team. As the Supervisor, HR Systems you will be responsible for leading the analysis, recommendations, planning, business configuration, documentation and implementation of technology enabled business systems and process solutions for Oracle HCM.  

Working closely with key HR stakeholders, the Business Excellence team, departments, and business leaders, this position identifies issue resolution and enhancements to increase effective and efficient operations for the end user.  

This position is also responsible for leading workforce analytics and assessment metrics element of reporting to increase HR’s strategic and analytical capability to support decision-making in the wider organization. 

This role may be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program.  The successful candidate will be required to reside within 2 hours of Sherwood Park, Alberta. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Oracle HCM system functional configuration to align with the overall ERP maintenance and technology roadmap, that supports effective and efficient HR service delivery 
  • Work in collaboration with internal partners in Business Excellence to effectively manage and maintain the human capital management system 
  • Lead the analysis, configuration and implementation of business process changes as it relates to each functional area of HR, specifically HR master data, recruitment, onboarding, time/labour, payroll, benefits, talent and analytics 
  • Manage all HCM aspects, in collaboration with Business Excellence for cross-functional and overall system, of the project planning, key requirements, testing, implementation, reporting and user support for system maintenance, enhancements and new features 
  • Enhance and optimize Oracle HCM business configuration to suit a variety of stakeholder needs, while balancing the need for enterprise-wide HR service delivery and business operational needs as well as cross-functional impacts 
  • Lead the HCM release assessment, planning, and implementation including test plans, verification and sign-offs and post-release support
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of system documentation including processes and procedures, user guides, training/operating manuals and standard operating procedures and test plans in alignment with Oracle standards set by the Business Excellence Team 
  • Ensure HR systems are compliant with internal audit standards 
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex support issues; escalate to the Business Excellence Team when necessary and work with Oracle Support for critical issue resolution 
  • Lead the design and delivery of training initiatives for HR systems to ensure all users receive appropriate training on any tools HR provides 
  • Provide technical leadership and supervision to a team of HR Analysts 
  • Provide daily oversight of external HCM consultants
  • Act as super user and subject matter expert on HR systems and technology, coach and lead others in technology understanding and adoption 
  • Lead the design, delivery and implementation of HR’s workforce analytics and assessment metrics providing a suite of reports/dashboards to system users, including employees and leaders
  • Collaborate with Business Excellence and other business partners to ensure centre-led standards are maintained, continuous improvement and future planning for Oracle Systems 
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A related degree or diploma in business, human resource management or a related field 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with HR systems (JDE Edwards, Oracle HCM, Success Factors, IBM/Kenexa, Workday) 
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience
  • Good understanding of cloud computing  
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems and business software is required 
  • In-depth understanding of the human resource function, broad generalist knowledge preferred 
  • Thorough knowledge of a variety of HR technology solutions, products, services, standards and best practices is required 
  • Experience implementing and managing HR technology programs including change management and communications is preferred  
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex HRIS issues  
  • Commitment to continuous growth in relation to analysis and technical skills and knowledge 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to envision, model and perform system configuration of complex data flows and workflows 
  • Logical and analytical thinking, demonstrating the ability to investigate, design and implement solutions to problems  
  • Proven project management skills including the ability to organize, execute and plan large-scale projects  
  • Solid experience building reports, defining requirements, and understanding how information is organized 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a solution-oriented focus and the ability to foster productive relationships with all levels in the organization and influence owners and users of the applications 
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage a diverse and demanding workload with multiple deadlines  
  • Ability to contribute and lead diverse teams to work through complex business issue
Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $97,388.20 - $121,739.80
