Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Development Engineering, the Administrative Assistant – Development Engineering will coordinate the processing of Development Agreements exclusively within the Development Engineering Division. This includes circulation, documentation, record-keeping, notifications, milestone tracking, and administration, all the way to final release and/or subdivision assumption.

Additionally, the Administrative Assistant – Development Engineering will provide effective and efficient administrative support, research, coordination, and communication for the Development Engineering Division. This support extends to interactions with other Departments and the public, encompassing all functions related to land use, servicing, construction, development status, and property information services.

Furthermore, the Administrative Assistant will assist the Town in achieving higher organization, record-keeping, transparency, accountability, and development process performance by supporting the Development Engineering Division.

Note: The Town is currently undergoing a Corporate-Wide Organizational Structure Review, therefore potential reporting alignment or the duties and accountabilities are subject to modification.

Requirements
  • Requires successful completion of a minimum 2 year College program
  • A minimum of 5 years of administrative experience in a municipal engineering and operational environment or approved equivalent
  • Requires at least one to two years’ experience in dealing with the public
  • Word processing, spreadsheet and database computer skills required, and conversion of documents into accessible formats is an asset
  • Must have excellent organizational skills to maintain records and ensure reports are completed in a timely manner
  • Ability to constructively participate in team discussions and provide feedback
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization and handle the stresses and pressures that are associated with the position with maturity and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Salary & Benefits

This is a new full-time opportunity at the Town. The annual salary rate for this role is $59,932.60 - $70,106.40 (2024 Rate). The Town also offers the following to our employees:
