About You / What We Are Looking For
We are currently recruiting for a regular full time Building Technician to join our team of professionals in the Facilities Division of the Parks, Recreation, Culture and Facilities Department.
Working autonomously and exercising independent judgment, you will assist in the administration of small renovation projects/asset renewals, including preparing contract documents, coordinating work on the projects, expediting materials and following-up on project progress. Excellent customer service and communication is required, as you will be dealing with service contracts and contractors on a daily basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Your considerable knowledge of the above functions is founded on a post-secondary 2-year diploma in Construction Management (or similar) and extensive building construction, contract management and material expediting experience, as well as some drafting training.
- You are fully conversant with building construction methods, materials and costs, and legislation regarding construction contracts.
- A Driver’s License for the Province of BC is required (with satisfactory driving record).
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $42.44 - $50.12. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off program. This position is based in Coquitlam.
