Description
The City of Pitt Meadows is recruiting an Auxiliary Recreation Facility Attendant to support a variety of programs offered at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre, South Bonson Community Centre, and Heritage Hall. Reporting to the Manager of Recreation and Culture, this position provides general assistance to the public, sets up equipment for programs and events, maintains building safety and security, performs simple janitorial and maintenance tasks, and conducts a variety of administrative tasks to support program registration and needs. 

Applicants must be able to provide flexible availability, as shifts fluctuate based on operational needs. Current on-call shifts are scheduled between:

            Monday to Friday: 3:15pm – 9:05pm

            Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00am

            Sunday: 8:00am – 8:00pm

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by some related experience, or completion of a certificate program in recreation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to performance physical labour involving lifting and carrying event equipment. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License.
  • St. John’s First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
