Description
Parkland County has temporary, full-time positions available for Data Collectors (Survey Assistants) working from approximately May to the end of August 2024 available for Engineering post-secondary students. Data Collectors are responsible for collecting roadway data and roadway surface condition data, database entry and providing assistance to the department in the planning process regarding review and revisions of asset management reference material. The supervisor may expand duties to include GPS data collection, water, wastewater and storm water facility data collection and inspections, traffic counts, sidewalk assessments, construction project support in the field and in the office and various engineering related duties.  You must adhere to all safety measures outlined in related policies while involved with any aspect of the duties required to ensure work is performed in a safe environment while working on rural roads with minimal supervision. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following: 

  • Enrollment in an Engineering related post-secondary program. 

  • Proficiency with computer application and data entry.  Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) is required (preferred exposure to database & GIS systems). 

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.  A current satisfactory Driver’s Abstract must be provided upon hire. 

Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes: 

An hourly rate of pay of $25.49 based on 40 hours per week.
