Description
The Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking experienced and qualified instructors to plan and lead volleyball programs.  Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer or Program Technician, the Instructor II ensures that participants are acting in accordance to facility rules and that the facility and equipment are in safe, working condition.  Instructors may also participate in the activity and perform hosting duties.

The successful candidates will work Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. and additional varying shifts as required (hours/shifts are subject to change).

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience teaching volleyball or programs in a recreational or instructional setting; satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (PIC-VS); Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C, as required.  The ideal candidates will have the ability to be inclusive and flexible to ensure a positive environment is created for all participants; demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills; and the ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm and personal motivation. An equivalent combination of education and expertise may be considered.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $26.16 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits.
