Now Hiring: Agricultural Equipment Technician (Competition #24-15)

Parkland County has a Seasonal position available in the Agriculture & Environment Services Department for an Agricultural Equipment Technician working from approximately April to September of each year.  Under the direction of the Team Lead, Mowing, you are responsible for the maintenance and minor repair of department equipment including small power equipment, spray equipment, mowers and tractors. This position is responsible for providing related manual work at roadsides, County owned property and some County land and will also provide guidance to staff in relation to equipment operation, maintenance and safe practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12.
  • Experience in the operation and routine maintenance of heavy-duty agricultural vehicles and equipment including sprayers, mowers and tractors.
  • Experience with small engine repair and maintenance.
  • Overhead Crane Certification (or eligibility to obtain) and experience in the use of overhead cranes to move and transport heavy materials.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain an effective, tactful service-oriented relationship with co-workers and the public.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

An hourly rate of pay of $34.98 working 40 hours/week working from approximately April to September each year.
