Description
Parkland County has temporary, full-time, summer positions available in the Agricultural & Environment Services Department for Vegetation Management Personnel (Spray Crew Workers).  Successful candidates will perform a variety of duties including roadside and subdivision vegetation management using selective herbicides, mechanical or manual applications for weed & brush control, as well as other related duties.  The ability to deal with the public effectively and courteously and maintain accurate reports is required. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following:

• High School Diploma supplemented by current enrollment or completion of post-secondary education in Agriculture or a related field.
• Valid Alberta Pesticide Applicator's License or the ability to obtain one.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
• Ability to safely perform manual labour tasks relating to weed control.
• An agricultural background or pesticide application experience would be an asset.

Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

An hourly rate of pay of $30.10 (Licensed Applicator) or $27.05 (Unlicensed Applicator) working 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week; May to approximately August 30, 2024.
