Description
The Town of Stony Plain is currently recruiting a key member of our Planning and Infrastructure team for the position of Manager, Infrastructure Operations.  Reporting to the General Manager, Planning & Infrastructure, this position oversees strategic planning and operations of Roads, Utilities, Facilities, Fleet, and Environment Services (Solid Waste & Recycling).  This position is responsible to manage the maintenance, repair and replacement of assets and services for the Town; provide direction and leadership to the various business units in strategy development, corporate planning, budget development and performance monitoring; collaborate with various business units and Tri-Region Partners; and ensure business units meet operational goals and objectives to provide services in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.


We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Has experience and working knowledge of roads, drainage, utilities, environmental, facilities and fleet infrastructure operation and maintenance
  • Understands and experienced with Municipal Government Act, municipal policies, procedures, and processes
  • Exhibits strong management and leadership skills with the ability to effectively mentor and develop staff
  • Possesses exceptional communication and professional relationship building skills, demonstrating tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge in the development and administration of budgets, project tendering process and construction practices
  • Has the skills and ability to balance multiple priorities to bring projects to completion using sound judgement and initiative
  • Holds the ability to mediate and problem solve multifaceted situations
  • Has an awareness of political sensitivities, excellent negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
Requirements

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree in a directly related field (Engineering, Business Administration Technology, Environment or similar); Equivalencies may be considered
  • Incident Command System 200 Certificate
  • Asset Management (Asset)
  • Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) designation (Asset)
  • Certified Public Fleet Professional designation (Asset)
  • Project Management Training or PMP designation (Asset)

 

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of progressive supervisory and leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach and inspire others
  • Experience successfully managing capital and operating budgets in a municipal environment (or similar)

Salary & Benefits

The Town offers an exceptional benefit package including the Local Authorities Pension Plan, plus the option to participate in the Apex Supplementary Pension Plan.  Based on a 35-hour work week, the salary range for this position is $106,807 - $135,888 per annum.  Starting salary is negotiable within this range based on suitable experience and qualifications.
