As a Funding Strategist, you will advance the social well-being of Calgarians through a wide range of social service planning, funding program management, and social service policy development. The focus of the position will be to lead and/or support a number of funding programs including (but not limited to) the Family and Community Support Services, the Community Safety Investment Framework, the Capacity-Building Fund, and other funds.

Primary duties include:

• Collaborate across other business units, funders, government partners, and community stakeholders to identify the need for social service programs and funding.
• Contribute to internal and external collaborations and system integration of funding programs.
• Develop, maintain and update social service funding frameworks and oversee the implementation of strategies for multiple funding programs.
• Evaluate funding proposals and make recommendations for the allocation of funding, with input from internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of various funding streams and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support the program management and contract with provincial and federal governments, as required.
• Prepare and present written reports, briefing notes, memos and presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Act as a resource by providing informed opinions based on research, best practice, and engagement.

Requirements

Qualifications
• A graduate degree in social work, public administration, policy development, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in the social services field, with an emphasis on grant administration, process development, project management, and impact assessment.
• Previous experience and knowledge of non-profit organizations and those who deliver social service or community development programs.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, adaptability, political acumen, and project management skills.
• Possess the ability to engage effectively with a variety of audiences and partners.

Position Type: 1 Permanent, 1 Temporary (up to
12 months)
Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $44.20 - 59.09 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day work
week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
