To plan, organize and co-ordinate the administration of the Cemetery, including sales, marketing, supervision and the monitoring of operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Sell interment/inurnment rights, cemetery lots, crypts and niches, products and services on a pre-need and an at-need basis while providing exceptional customer service.
- Market and develop the cemetery and monitor any business plans that relate to this area of service while fostering a positive public relations.
- Confer with clergy, the funeral home industry and the general public to discuss the rules and regulations of Victoria lawn Cemetery and the cemetery industry, which may involve the resolution of problems and complaints.
- Organize, schedule and supervise day to day administration and cemetery office staff.
- Report directly to the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO).
- Monitor the administrative, maintenance, operational, and developmental aspects of the cemetery.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Parks, Cemeteries, Forestry and Horticulture in the development of marketing, promotion and communication strategies for the cemetery.
- Implement various marketing and promotion strategies.
- Prepare reports and monitor accounts receivables.
- Work to achieve business plans, financial goals and sales targets for the cemetery.
- Recommend plans for the development, expansion or renovations based on user needs, projected usage and/or general preventative maintenance needs and monitor construction activities.
- Prepare and monitor the budget that relates to the administration, sales and accounting of the operations and the cemetery.
- Prepare and monitor rates and fees that relate directly to the administrative maintenance and sales functions of the cemetery operations.
- Work with organizations, service groups and private businesses for community sponsorships and partnerships.
- Collaborate with the and other outside operational staff as it pertains to burials, perpetual care and grounds maintenance.
- Perform other similar and related duties, as required.
Position Requirements:
- College Diploma in Business Administration, or equivalent, including a marketing component, and with proven experience in working with the public in a professional manner.
- Three (3) years of experience in sales and public relations in the funeral services industry or equivalent, including knowledge of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act and other legislation relevant to the funeral services industry.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to interact with families and individuals from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, often under sensitive and emotional circumstances.
- Must have initiative and be innovative.
- Proven management ability in organizing and controlling a varied operation.
- Working knowledge of computers and financial budgeting.
- Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness training.
- A demonstrated commitment to enhancing a safety culture.
Salary Range: Minimum $65,202 annually; Maximum $81,502 annually

Hours of Work: Currently Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:00pm
