The Photo Enforcement Operator/Technician will:
- Represent the City of Lloydminster with the highest standards, values and ethics.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality in all matters.
- Meet or exceed the requirements of the RCMP enhanced security policy.
- Adhere to the policies and principles of the LA/FOIP Act.
- Prepare documentation for locations to be monitored during shift.
- Complete all administrative duties related to processing of violations, including queries from motor vehicle branch and input of data to ticket processing system.
- Daily preparation, to include inspection of vehicle/equipment to ensure satisfactory operating condition.
- Attend designated enforcement locations, checking to ensure all speed signs are posted and visible.
- Confirm location and direction as indicated on control sheet.
- Keep communications centre advised of current location at all times.
- Set up computer and radar equipment as per checklist.
- Monitor traffic and manually record all violators on control sheet.
- On completion of site monitoring, perform shut down procedure as per checklist on control sheet.
- Return vehicle to compound and ensure all systems plugged in and charged.
- Identify locations for enforcement through statistical analysis and perform site assessments in compliance with Automated Traffic Enforcement Guidelines.
- Other related duties as required.
Schedule:
This position is a combination of 20% office and 80% fieldwork. This position is required to work a combination of shiftwork, which may include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain RCMP enhanced reliability security clearance.
- Must meet minimum criteria to be appointed as a Community Peace Officer Level 2 by Alberta Justice & Solicitor General.
- Valid Class 5 Operators License in Alberta or Saskatchewan with acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Must successfully complete training for camera and violation processing software.
- Previous experience in a law enforcement role is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Traffic Safety Act and court processes.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
- The ability to complete time restricted deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism and converse in-person and through written correspondence with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the public.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a team.
- The ability to conduct work practices in an ethical and confidential manner.
- Current First Aid and AED certificate.
Band 4: $26.85 - $29.33 per hour
(Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)
