Description
The Corporate Records Management Technicians are responsible for the execution of the Corporate Records & Information Management Program. Responsibilities include the corporate wide execution of records management including projects and planning, client services and training, retention and disposition of corporate records, and provide accurate direction in regards to classification and indexing.

Requirements
  • 2 year diploma in records management field, equivalencies may be considered.
  • Three (3) years experience performing records management, which must include a minimum of one (1) year experience with electronic document and information management systems.
  • Current standing in ARMA and experience in a municipal environment and use of electronic document management software is an asset.

In addition to the 9 Core Competencies* identified for all employees of the City of Red Deer – the following are specific to this position:

  • Have a strong awareness of information, access, and privacy legislation, i.e. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver records and information management training.
  • Have proficient working knowledge of computers with demonstrated ability to create and manipulate electronic files and folders.
  • Ability to select pertinent information from documents created by others and uses this information in the classification of the document to provide guidance to staff and classifiers.
  • A demonstrated proficiency at working independently with minimal supervision using initiative to complete projects.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous duties and organize workload efficiently.
  • Ability to work in an environment of constant interruptions.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, communications (both verbal and written), project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong motivational, knowledge sharing, team and self-management skills.

Salary & Benefits

The hourly rate for this full-time position is $29.15 to $30.86. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a great work environment with a dynamic and dedicated team of likeminded professionals.
