INFORMATION & ADMINISTRATIVE REPRESENTATIVE (VBEC)

Within the Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC), responsible for providing current, accurate and timely business information to prospective and existing clients and partners. Coupled with the primary role of assisting clients with online business registrations, screening clients in a professional and courteous manner. Assisting and counseling clients with enquiries and business registrations, advising on various options, services and programs available for entrepreneurship as well as performs back up duties for the Small Business Consultants. Responsible for the implementation of VBEC programs, events and initiatives per the direction of the Manager of VBEC, including marketing, e-blasts, success story compilations and back–up to website updates. Responsible for all VBEC administrative functions such as tracking, maintaining and updating appropriate data and contact information. Sales duties include seminars, events, programs and sponsorships opportunity, cultivation and follow-up.
Qualifications and experience:

University or College Degree in Business Studies, Marketing or Office Administration or 2 – 3 years of related work experience (An equivalent combination of education/work experience will be considered).

Effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.

Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Customer service and sales-focused with the ability to effectively interface with clients.

Driven and self-motivated/directed with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with successful results.

Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Experience in small business sector is preferred and previous entrepreneurial experience an asset.

Sound executive judgment and ability in handling matters of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
