Recreation Services Department
As a member of the Business Services Branch, the Registration Administrator and Data Analyst supports staff of the Recreation Services department through administration of the recreation registration system (ActiveNet), development and delivery of training related to the registration system, and analysis of recreation user and program data. Ensures integrity of registration data by identifying and resolving system issues, supports the department’s commitment to providing excellent customer service by evaluating and implementing process improvements and training opportunities, and supports good decision making and planning by management through sound data analysis.
Applicants must have:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications)
- Three (3) year University Degree with a specialization in, or in concert with a certificate related to: business management, business administration, commerce, accounting, data analysis, or business process analysis. A Four (4) year University Degree with a specialization in, or in concert with a certificate related to: business management, business administration, commerce, information technology, computer science, data analysis, or business process analysis is preferred.
Experience
- Three (3) years of related municipal or other public sector/government experience in a finance or accounting setting, or in a role which undertakes data analysis, interpretation and reporting, or financial tracking Three (3) years or more years of experience administering a registration system and undertaking data analysis in a municipal recreation setting is preferred
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
- Database and/or registration system administration.
- Creating, verifying, debugging and troubleshooting complex formulas and functions in Excel, including advanced programming of logical functions (IF statements, SUMIF, Pivot tables, LOOKUP, nested statements).
- Advanced knowledge of ActiveNet registration system, including user and system administration.
- Analytical and problem solving skills, including data analysis techniques and methods and the ability to identify trends, variances, and anomalies in data sets. Advanced mathematical skills, including the application of statistical functions.
- An advanced ability to express oneself in oral and written communication, including the development of Staff reports for presentation to City Council.
- Advanced use of Excel to create complex and professional appearing data presentations which clearly articulate findings – including charts, graphs, conditional formatting, subtotals, and other functions.
- Advanced use of Crystal Report for creating and modifying reports and data queries.
- Advanced knowledge of desktop publishing software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Training and development principles for adult learners
