Responsible for:
As a Human Resources Partner you will be responsible for providing consultation services to client departments, through working partnerships, on a variety of human resources issues, under the guidance of the Manager of Human Resources. You will conduct employment interviews and provide assessments and recommendations to client departments. Provide consultation, advice, guidance and interpretation of human resources policies, procedures and collective agreements, resolve employee and labour relations issues. You will be required to deliver training programs and workshops to staff and train and update client departments on new and revised policies, procedures and programs. You will attend and participate in departmental meetings as required.
Qualifications and experience:
• University Degree in Human Resources, or suitable equivalent;
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Human Resources. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or working towards CHRP;
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills including excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Knowledge of Ontario Employment Legislation;
• Manage daily workload, set priorities and meet required deadlines while contending with conflicting demands;
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
• Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's Licence in good standing and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business;
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the City’s core competencies;
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
