PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Introduction: What AI Means for Government and Nonprofit Organizations (Week 1) - Explore the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on government and nonprofit operations. This session breaks down key AI concepts and highlights how organizations can leverage AI to deliver better services, make data-driven decisions, and prepare for the future.
AI Prompt Engineering (Week 2) - Learn how to communicate effectively with AI tools by crafting clear, targeted prompts. This module covers techniques to get better results, improve efficiency, and avoid common pitfalls when using AI-powered platforms.
AI for Competitive Intelligence in Organizational Contexts (Week3) - Discover how AI can be used to gather, analyze, and interpret data to inform organizational strategy. Participants will explore practical approaches to monitor industry trends, understand stakeholder and customer needs, and stay ahead of emerging opportunities and risks.
AI to Improve Communications (Week 4) - Examine how AI can enhance internal and external communications. This session covers use cases such as writing assistance, citizen and customer engagement, translation, and streamlining messaging across multiple channels.
AI for Process Automation & Efficiency (Week 5) - Discover how AI can simplify routine administrative tasks and optimize workflows. This session explores real-world examples of process automation using Microsoft Copilot, including streamlining internal communications, and creating documents, presentations, and spreadsheets more efficiently.
AI Policies, Ethics, Security and Procedures (Week 6) - Understand the critical considerations when adopting AI in the public and nonprofit sectors. This session covers governance, transparency, bias mitigation, privacy, and developing policies to ensure responsible, ethical, and secure use of AI tools.
Course Objectives:
