The Government Finance Officers Association of Alberta (GFOA Alberta) is welcoming municipal finance professionals from Saskatchewan and Manitoba to join its expanding network of over 1,250 members across Western Canada.
With a mission to inspire and promote excellence in municipal financial management, GFOA Alberta provides members with year-round access to professional development, peer networking, and practical resources tailored to the unique challenges of local government.
"Municipal finance officers across the Prairies face similar pressures, limited resources, evolving PSAB standards, and increasing public accountability," said Rick Wojtkiw, Executive Director, GFOA Alberta. "By opening our membership to neighbouring provinces, we're helping more professionals connect, collaborate, and learn from each other."

- Access to sample municipal policies and technical training sessions
- Municipal forums by population size to foster collaboration among peers
- Discounted registration for GFOA Alberta's annual conference and training
