The Chief Engineer oversees the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all necessary building systems within the Complex.
The candidate will possess:
• A 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate
• A Valid Class 5 Manitoba Drivers Licence
• Knowledge of engineering practices/principals.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of low-pressure steam boilers, refrigeration equipment, compressors, emergency power equipment and potable water systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, controls and/or HVAC systems, including maintenance and trouble shooting.
• The ability to discern colours for colorimetric testing of water samples
• Computer Skills • The ability to understand, execute and communicate oral and written instructions
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to test systems and log results
• Ability to monitor operating conditions by reading meters, gauges, and automatic recording devices
• At least two years experience that directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
This position is unionized under a collective agreement with a wage starting at $29.48 per hour plus a remote area allowance of $334.74 bi-weekly.
