Position Type/ Hours: | This is a permanent full-time position working forty-two (42) hours per week within the Bylaw Services Branch of the RCMP/Bylaw Services Department. |
Position Description: | Under the supervision of the Sergeant, will ensure compliance with all relevant municipal bylaws, answer inquiries, initiate investigations and finalize complaints, issue violation tickets, lay charges, process summons and subpoenas, maintain files, compile records, submit reports, liaise with Prosecutors and represent the Municipality in a Court of Law. |
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year Law Enforcement or security experience is required.
You will possess the following:
• Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability Security clearance.
• Conversant with Traffic By-Law and Court procedures, an asset.
• Good communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to compile and present evidence in a Court of Law.
• Ability to acquire knowledge of relevant Bylaws/Acts/Legislation.
• Must be willing and able to attain Community Peace Officer II (CPO II) appointment through the Alberta Solicitor General within one (1) year from the hire date into this position.
• Must be medically and physically able to perform the duties in all weather conditions on an ongoing basis.
• Valid First Aid certificate to be obtained prior to commencing employment and maintained while employed.
• For future succession opportunities must be able to pass a Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) Test.
• Valid Class (5) Alberta Driver’s License (clear driving record is an asset).
Pay Level: PL 12
Salary Range: $35.27 (Probationary Rate)
$38.66 – $41.42 (Permanent Rates)
