Picture yourself as a Building Inspector / Plan Checker II in a municipality striving to be the Best Mid Sized City in North America, utilizing your experience to examine plans and to authorize construction for residential, commercial Industrial and institutional projects. You will be required to review drawings and documents for building code compliance which may include alternative solution submissions to ensure compliance with the BC Building Code, City bylaws, approved subdivision requirements, and to conduct field inspections as required.
Qualifications:
• Building Technology or Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent
• 3 – 4 years of Plan Checking / Building Inspection Experience or equivalent combinations
• Level/group 3 of Building Official Association of BC or Alberta Safety Codes Council an asset
• Valid Driver’s License - Class 5
