Description
The Town of Inuvik is seeking a full-time Utilidor Electrician to join our team. The Utilidor Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment associated with the utilidor and municipal infrastructure. The successful candidate will perform inspections, troubleshoot electrical problems, complete preventive maintenance, and help ensure the safe and reliable operation of essential community services. The Utilidor Electrician must follow all applicable safety requirements, policies, and procedures that support municipal operations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician Certification, or an equivalent recognized qualification
- Experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, preferably in municipal utility systems
- Knowledge of water distribution, wastewater collection, mechanical systems, pumps, motors, and electrical controls
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including responding to emergencies and after-hours calls
- Good communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, reliability, professionalism, and teamwork
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
The successful candidate must pass a vulnerable sector criminal record check.
Salary & Benefits
Annual Salary Range: $92,643.20 - $118,456.00 + Northern Living Allowance
