Description
The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Development Engineering. Reporting to the Director, Planning & Development, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, and control of the Development Engineering Section of the Planning & Development Department. Considerable independent judgment is required in overseeing the review of development proposals. Only complex issues or matters of major impact are referred to the Director.

Requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline from a recognized educational institution and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience, including proven management supervisory experience. Eligibility for Membership of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia is required. This role requires possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.

Salary & Benefits

This is a permanent full-time exempt position offering 35 hours of work per week, with the salary range of $142,276.91 to $151,358.42 as well as a competitive benefits package. Relocation assistance may be provided to the successful applicant.
