Parks, Recreation and Community Services is seeking two experienced and enthusiastic Instructor IIIs – Ceramics to join the Recreation Division at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. These casual positions are ideal for individuals who are passionate about ceramics instruction and enjoy fostering creativity while delivering engaging, safe and inclusive programs for participants of varying ages and skill levels.

Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer or Program Technician, the Instructor III is responsible for providing direct instruction, leadership and program management for ceramics programs. Responsibilities include preparing course outlines, setting up and maintaining studio equipment and materials, delivering hands-on instruction, monitoring participant progress, maintaining attendance records, and ensuring a safe, clean and organized studio environment. The Instructor III also provides excellent customer service, participates in in-service training, and supports the overall success of the ceramics program.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 10, a minimum of three months' experience in ceramics instruction, and certification or specialized training in ceramics appropriate to the area of instruction. Candidates must possess current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C and demonstrate strong technical knowledge, effective instructional skills, and the ability to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary & Benefits
