Qualifications include completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, plus considerable related financial analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. An incumbent will have considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures and systems applicable to budget and accounting operations; and of computer capabilities and analysis applicable to financial and related systems. The ability to analyze, prepare, and present a variety of financial and statistical reports and data; establish priorities, plan and organize work to meet established objectives, goals, and statutory deadlines; and analyze financial and related system designs and specifications to identify potential control deficiencies and to recommend modifications as required. The Financial Analyst will have the ability to exercise sound independent judgement in resolving financial and budgeting problems and analyzing operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
