The District of Saanich's Parks, Recreation and Community Services department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, and Healthy Community, while supporting our vision: a Saanich where everyone belongs. Gordan Head Recreation Centre is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Recreation Clerk to support the facility, sport and major event bookings. The Recreation Clerk maintains facility logbook which includes coordinating facility rental bookings, basic accounting, inventory control and a variety of production assignments.

The Recreation Clerk in addition, will support a variety of administrative and clerical duties including processing program registrations, preparing correspondence and promotional materials, maintaining statistics and reports, and responding to telephone and counter enquiries about programs, services, and rentals. The position also processes payments, prepares contracts, maintains records and inventories, assists with basic accounting tasks such as balancing deposits, and supports marketing and communication initiatives related to recreation programs and services.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, including up to one year of post-secondary education in office administration, basic accounting and/or graphic design. Candidates should have at least one year of related experience supporting facility bookings for Major Events and Sport. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff are essential. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work varying hours of work including evenings, early mornings, and weekends up to 35 hours per week depending on the facility needs. Salary & Benefits
