Posting Closes:  April 29, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.             Schedule:  As required up to 8 hours/day
                                                                                                   Approximately working from May to October, 2026 

Working within the Engineering department and reporting to the Manager, Capital Construction, you will provide traffic control/directions to motoring public traveling through work areas with some labour duties required. Experience operating packing equipment would be considered an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. You will be supplied with protective equipment (coveralls, hard hat, and fluorescent reflectorized vest) which must be worn when applicable. You must supply your own CSA approved steel toe footwear, which must be in good condition and worn when applicable. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following: 

  • Certificate as a Flagperson is desirable, however training will be provided.    

  • Experience operating packing equipment is considered an asset. 

  • Ability to relay information in a quick & courteous manner. 

Requirements:  

  • A valid class 5 driver’s license and current, satisfactory driver’s abstract provided upon hire. 

  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required upon hire, excluding candidates under the age of 18 and current Parkland County employees. 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.  

Salary & Benefits

Rate of Pay:  $22.19 per hour 

This position is within scope of the current collective agreement between Parkland County and The International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 955.
