As a Utility Operator I, you will work in and around creeks and waterways and understand environmental protocols and best management practices. You will also: assist in the operations sewer and drain equipment and machinery; assist in bank stabilization, gabion installation and lift station construction; as well as assist in spill response.

Requirements

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; one year of pipefitting experience in water or wastewater systems; EOCP OIT (Operator in Training) Certification for Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection is considered an asset; Traffic Control Certificate; Occupational First Aid Level 1 and confined space entry training as required; and basic navigation skills of field-based GIS software. A valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement is an asset and annual renewal of a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract are also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week). In addition to the interview process, testing will be conducted. Only those under consideration will be contacted.

Salary & Benefits
