The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning, the Financial Analyst is responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering the budgetary systems and documentation for the City of Nanaimo. The Financial Analyst will work closely with City staff at various levels, seeking and soliciting co-operation and information, and participate in problem solving efforts to complete the financial planning model.

Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum 4 years’ experience in a variety of complex accounting practices in a computerized environment as well as completion of a recognized British Columbia Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).

Salary & Benefits

This is a CUPE bargaining unit position based on a 35-hour work week, and subject to Article 1(d) - Probationary Period as set out in the Union Collective Agreement. The hourly wage is $55.73, increasing to $58.66 after 60 working days (Jan 2025 Rates).
