The Recreation Division is seeking a reliable and service-oriented Building Service Worker I to support the daily operations at Cedar Hill Campus: Recreation Centre and Golf Course. This position plays an important role in ensuring that recreation facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for the community while supporting a wide variety of programs, activities, and events delivered at the facility.

Under the general direction of the Technical Building Services Supervisor or Building Services[CE1]  Supervisor, the Building Service Worker I performs a range of facility support duties including routine cleaning and maintenance of recreation areas, meeting rooms, washrooms, and common spaces. Responsibilities include setting up and taking down equipment and furniture for programs and events, monitoring facility conditions to ensure safety and cleanliness, assisting staff and user groups as required, and responding to general operational needs of the facility. The role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with staff, contractors, and members of the public.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 11 or equivalent; Building Service Worker Level 1 certification; and a minimum of three months of related custodial or building service experience. Hard floor and carpet care certification is required, along with WHMIS certification valid within one year and Occupational First Aid Level I. Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate(s) will work varying shifts including nights, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those under consideration will be contacted.

Salary & Benefits
