The Parks Division is seeking a Parks Assistant Mechanic who will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, and assignment of Parks small equipment inventory, including the maintaining of records and parts inventories and providing input on purchases. The Parks Assistant Mechanic also assists the Certified Parks Mechanic with preventative maintenance and repairs on all Parks equipment and helps keep the shop clean and organized.

Requirements

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; one year of post-secondary education related to equipment repair and maintenance; two years of experience performing vehicle or equipment service and minor maintenance tasks in a shop environment; knowledge of methods and practices used in servicing and maintaining equipment; knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, WHMIS, and the Motor Vehicle Act; valid Class 5 BC Driver's licence; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate(s) will work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm (40 hours per week). As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those under consideration will be contacted.
