Recreation and Community Services Divisions are recruiting enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our Summer Camps team in the role of Youth Leader II – Supervisor. This role supports the delivery of high-quality recreation programs for children and youth across Saanich recreation centres, offsite locations, and parks during the summer season.

Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer, the Youth Leader II – Supervisor provides leadership in the planning, supervision, and evaluation of summer camps and programs. This includes overseeing daily program operations, supervising and supporting staff, coordinating schedules, managing equipment and supplies, assisting with training, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining program quality, responding to operational needs, and supporting positive experiences for children, youth, and families.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 12; experience in the administration of recreational programs; a minimum of six months’ experience working with children in a recreation or day-camp setting; demonstrated program planning experience; supervisory experience in a related field; Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C; and a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence. Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Successful candidates will work Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours will vary dependent on program needs. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted.  Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those under consideration will be contacted.

Salary & Benefits
