Description
The GIS Editor will provide support to the GIS team by contributing to a diverse range of GIS projects under the mentorship and supervision of senior staff as well as the Supervisor of GIS & IT Applications. Some of the key projects will involve updating assets, making updates to interactive and static maps, as well as carrying out data cleaning and preparation tasks. In addition to this, the specialist will undertake any related duties as required to ensure the seamless operation of GIS-related activities.

The responsibilities for this role include providing data to customers and city contractors, responding to customer inquiries and requests, and assisting professional staff in processing, planning, and developing applications. Additionally, you will be tasked with preparing maps, plans, and other presentation materials to support departmental planning and development activities. Updating and maintaining the City's Geographic Information System is also a part of the role. Collecting and compiling a wide range of data, research materials, and information for statistical purposes is required.

Requirements

You have completed grade 12 and the first year of an advanced diploma in GIS from a recognized technical institute. It is desirable to have experience with GIS-based mapping in a municipal setting using ESRI ArcGIS software. Experience with SQL Server Databases is an asset. We're flexible! This casual position offers flexibility in scheduling.
