About the Role
The Distribution and Collection Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operation of Aquatera’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This role ensures the safe, efficient delivery of high-quality services, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture while providing leadership and mentorship to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the distribution and collection team, setting performance goals aligned with company strategy.
- Promote and enforce safety standards for employees, contractors, and customers.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance planning for infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and design solutions.
- Prepare and monitor operations and maintenance (O&M) budgets and provide input on capital projects.
- Administer the CUPE Collective Agreement and manage scheduling, vacation, and overtime.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and environmental standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and the public.
- Assist in resolving claims related to distribution and collection issues.
- Ensure management of change (MOC) processes are followed for all operational changes.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Must be Legally entitled to work in Canada without limitations.
- CET or P.Eng. designation (water distribution and wastewater collection certification preferred).
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- High commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to adapt to evolving situations and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Cityworks and GIS is an asset.
