The District of Saanich is looking for a skilled Engineering Technician IV to join our Development Services team within the Engineering Department to help manage the delivery of infrastructure that supports vibrant neighborhoods. What you’ll do

  • Lead the review of designs relating to complex development and third-party utility projects.
  • Act as a key liaison between developers, engineers, internal staff and utility agencies.
  • Ensure projects meet municipal standards, bylaws, and best practices
  • Conduct site inspections to confirm compliance and acceptance, and/or identify deficiencies requiring resolution.

Requirements

Requirements include a two-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution and a minimum of five years of directly related experience; eligibility for registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC; and a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week), with variation of work hours, flex days, and part-time work from home available. Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $48.10 per hour plus an excellent benefits package.
