Key Responsibilities:
- Together with the Fit Tech IV, ensures the successful operation of the Millennium Place Wellness Center
- Serves as the primary coordinator for equipment maintenance tracking and maintenance
- Manages the implementation of Strathcona County personal training services
- Assists in supervising, mentoring, and training Fitness Technician I’s and II’s
- Helps Fitness Technician IV in delivering hourly staff training and development as well as oversees ongoing performance
- Actively engages guests, provides excellent customer service and proactively addresses concerns and feedback
- Promotes health and wellness through community partnerships and maintains excellent public relations to promote guest retention and a positive image for RPC
- Seeks out new fitness initiatives and helps to implement innovative ideas and projects
- As a member of the larger Millennium Place Full-Time team, the Fitness Technician III supports other facility work areas, as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal communication skills both verbally and written
- Strong supervisory abilities including demonstrated leadership skills to motivate, develop high-performing teams and foster a sense of teamwork
- Excellent fitness equipment usage knowledge and extensive exercise prescription knowledge
- Extensive market knowledge in exercise equipment brands, quality, service providers and vendors
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, manage and balance a variety of interests and objectives
- Degree in a related field with minimum of 2 years fitness experience, or Diploma in a related field with a minimum of 4 years fitness experience is required
- Minimum of two years recreation related supervisory/leadership experience preferred
- Possessing a current CSEP-CPT or CEP designation or actively working toward obtaining one (or equivalent) is considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Oracle and Asset Planner considered an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- CPR (Level C), AED and Standard First Aid required
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Ability to perform physically demanding labour as required including lifting, bending, twisting, etc.
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday with an evening requirement and holidays as required.
Pay Range: $31.69 - $39.61
