Description
The Town of Inuvik is seeking a full-time Finance Officer to support the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial and accounting services. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining accounts payable, cash controls, and financial records in accordance with municipal policies and legislative requirements, and for providing financial and administrative support to Town operations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with post-secondary education or training in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field considered an asset.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts payable, general ledger, or municipal/government finance operations
- Experience using computerized financial systems (e.g., municipal accounting systems) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with contribution agreements, invoice verification, and financial documentation requirements
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism

Salary & Benefits
$77,064.00 – $101,751.00 per year, plus Northern Living Allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.
