Description
As a Parks Amenity Structures Technologist, you will conduct condition inspections of both existing and new amenity assets within Parks & Open Spaces and Recreation Athletic Parks. The data collected on the conditions and defects will inform asset management plans and guide maintenance and rehabilitation programming. You will also contribute to asset failure investigations by responding to 311 service request cases and providing recommendations for repair and maintenance. Primary duties include:
• Conduct condition inspections for Parks & Open Spaces amenity assets as well as Recreation horizontal assets.
• Conduct technical investigations on asset failures and complete inspection reports.
• Enter asset data into asset management systems.
• Support the Asset Management Engineer on developing repair and maintenance actions and work order management.

Requirements

• A completed 2-year diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture and at least 5 years of experience in the building construction and management industry.
• Experience in outdoor facility inspections, including shelters, pergolas, gazebos, sculptures, posts, and railings, is essential.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) and access to a personal vehicle for business use is required.
• Experience using ArcGIS Pro and maintenance management systems would be considered an asset.
• The successful candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, a commitment to upholding safety standards, and strong organization skills.

Salary & Benefits

  • Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $44.76 – 59.84 per hour
  • Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week

  • Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
