Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by the completion of a recognized Trade Certificate of Qualification plus considerable general experience at the Journeyperson level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the plumbing trade.Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Considerable knowledge of the City Plumbing regulations and standards. Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, rough drafts and to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to assign and supervise the work of one or more individuals engaged in less complex plumbing tasks. Ability to maintain simple records, estimate materials required and requisition parts and materials as required; and use innovative techniques, best practices and materials to improve quality and workmanship, reduce costs and minimize life cycle costs. A Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia, British Columbia Class B Level Gas Fitters Licence, and BCWWA Cross Connection Certificate are required.
